Gem, being a big, black dog entered into a fun contest from Mango and Dexter's blog. She found out about from her future boyfriend, Southern Moose. He entered the
contest too. There are so many black labradogs out there! The
contest really was to bring attention to the problem black dogs
have call Big Black Dog Syndrome.

Gem, The Famous Labradane Tells Where all the Cool Dogs Hang Out

Moving can to a new area can be an adventure, but it can also be a bit stressful. It's the little things like finding new favorite places to go. Well, think about how your dog feels. They had their friends back home and favorite haunts to sniff out. That is why my dog Gem thought I should pull together a bit of information on where to go with your furry best friend. So when you are out throwing that ball if your favorite dog park, or sipping coffee while your quad footed companion lays contentedly at your feet, thank Gem the labradane!

Dog Friendly Coffee Shops:
The Coffee Garden
898 South 900 East
Salt Lake City, UT 84702

The coffee garden is located in what the locals call the 9th and 9th district. There are tables outside to drink your coffee and catch some sunshine. If you get hungry, just stroll across the street for a bite to eat at:
Barbacoa Mexican Grill
859 East 900 South
Salt Lake City, UT
Two Creek Coffee (in the Avenues)great place for coffee with your dog in Salt Lake City"dog">
502 3rd Avenue
Salt Lake City, UT

Okay, I have to tell you this is my favorite place even without the dog! Comfortable leather chairs, great coffee and snacks. Best of all is the side yard fenced in by antique metal work. There is a garden in the summer with an old, lovely tree in the corner. It becomes an alcove of sorts and there is where Gem and I love to sit. There is a table and bench under there. A bowl of dog water is always by the door as well as dog treats! http://www.twocreekcoffee.com

Now that you have your caffeine, you are ready to get some fresh air and take off the leash! Here are some great places to do that:
